Intensive Spanish Program

Universidad Viña del Mar (UVM) offers four-week intensive Spanish Language and Chilean culture sessions in June and July through our Spanish Center.This program provides students, who are unable to spend an entire semester at Universidad Viña del Mar (UVM), the opportunity to travel abroad and improve their Spanish fluency. The small class size enhances the potential for students to improve their language skills in a short period of time.

Students in our Intensive Spanish Program also have the option of completing eight hours of volunteer work. This is a great way for students to experience other aspects of Chilean culture and use their Spanish skills outside of the classroom.

Intensive Spanish Program Offer.

June and July of every year.

Program includes.

Student orientation.
Homestay with a Chilean Family with three meals a day, WIFI, and laundry.
Cultural Activities.
Round-trip transportation from the Santiago airport (specific dates).
Volunteer work: ask for more information to the Program Coordinator.

Academic Spanish Program.

The Spanish Center uses the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages to place students in their appropriate levels of Spanish.

Communicational Spanish and Chilean Culture

The overall objective is to increase speaking and listening skills in Spanish from a communicative approach. Learning takes place through geography, history and culture of Chile. Students are given an overview of Chile allowing them to analyze, understand and compare a Hispanic country with their country of origin.

Communicational Skills: Grammar and Composition

Through various teaching techniques, students will be able to increase their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish. At the advanced level, students will learn how to redact professional documents such as e-mails, formal letters, and their resumes.

*Please, be aware that the courses availability is subject to change as there is a minimum of 3 students per class required.

An email informing the availability of selected courses and if there are changes, a deadline to receive your confirmation.

Once we have your confirmation, we will send you the program invoice (if applicable) with payment instructions and general information about the program. Remember that you can download the Cancellation Policy, available on the main page of the Spanish Center. This document will also be sent along with the invoice.

For those who have to pay the tuition fee, as soon as you send the payment confirmation, we will send you the official acceptance letter to the program with the academic calendar and relevant information for your trip to Chile.
